Akhilesh Yadav, president of the Samajwadi Party, and Chandrashekhar, leader of the Azad Samaj Party and Bhim Army, met in Lucknow on Saturday to discuss future plans for a movement to oppose the "anti-people policies of the BJP."
Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar attacked the BJP after speaking with Akhilesh Yadav, saying that our goal is to spark a movement on the ground and show the public the true nature of the BJP. All of these concerns as well as the grassroots movement were covered throughout the discussion.
According to a top SP leader, both leaders are meeting because a future alliance between them is a possibility. The rest is dependent on the situation. Akhilesh and Chandrashekhar have become closer ever since the assembly elections ended in March of last year. Before the elections, the two leaders had a meeting to discuss potential outcomes, but nothing specific could come about at that time.
