Due to the continuous rain in UP, the condition of the people has become miserable. 1370 villages in 18 districts are flooded due to rain. While Ganga, Rapti, Ghaghra, Sharda, and Rohini rivers are flowing above the danger mark in some districts. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took stock of the districts affected by floods and heavy rains. Jal Shakti Minister Swatantradev Singh inspected the flood-affected villages of Bahraich by helicopter on Tuesday.
CM Yogi has directed to provide immediate financial assistance to the families of those killed in such accidents. The Chief Minister has directed to deploy teams of NDRF, SDARF, and Flood PAC as per the need for relief and rescue work in the flood-affected areas. According to the Chief Minister's Office, 1370 villages in 18 districts are surrounded by flood water due to incessant rains in many districts of the state.
Of those districts, 287 are in Balrampur, 129 in Siddharthnagar, 120 in Gorakhpur, 114 in Shravasti, 110 in Gonda, 102 in Bahraich, 86 in Lakhimpur Kheri, 82 in Barabanki, 68 in Bulandshahr, 63 in Maharajganj, 60 in Azamgarh, Sitapur. 57 villages of Basti, 32 of Basti, 19 of Sant Kabir Nagar, 14 of Kushinagar, 13 of Mau, 12 of Ayodhya, and 2 of Ambedkar Nagar are affected by the floods.
