Uttar Pradesh: Relics found during the excavation of the Sati temple

As soon as the workers in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, began digging for the temple's foundation and pillars, coins from the 17th century emerged from the earth. The discovery of the treasure—Silver Coins—surprised the diggers. This information went around the region quickly in no time.

The villagers flocked to the location as soon as word of the coin discovered during the dig reached the village. Along with the police squad, the representatives of the Archaeological Department arrived there as soon as the information was received and seized the coins. The coins discovered during the dig are thought to date back 300 years.
