On Saturday, the Mysore-Chennai Vande Bharat Express train's two windows were broken. In reality, as the train arrived between the stations of Krishnarajapuram and Bengaluru Cantonment, some miscreants threw rocks at it, shattering window panes. The South-Western Railway has provided this data. There are no reports of anyone being hurt in the incident, though. Whoever threw the stones is the subject of an investigation by the authorities.
On November 11 of last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi signalled the beginning of the Mysore-Chennai Vande Bharat. Six days a week, this express train operates. It leaves Chennai Central at 5:50 in the morning and arrives in Mysore around 12:30. It makes a halt at Bengaluru's KSR station in between.
The Howrah-bound Vande Bharat Express was stoned earlier this year in Malda, West Bengal. The incident took place on January 2. A case of stone throwing on the Vande Bharat train from Darjeeling was discovered the very next day. On the other side, a case of stone pelting on the express train Vande Bharat, which was travelling from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah, was discovered on January 20 as well.
