Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off the first Vande Bharat Express in South India. This train will run between Bangalore and Chennai. PM Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat train at 11 am. Although four Vande Bharat trains have already been run in the country, this is the first train in South India.
The train will start from KSR Railway Station in Bangalore, Karnataka. At the same time, this train will be run to return from Mysore to Chennai as well. This train will be run from both sides for 6 days in a week, only on Wednesday, the train will not run. There will be a total of 16 coaches on this train. Out of this, 14 chair car and 2 executive chair car coaches will be installed.
The distance from Chennai to Mysore is about 480 km and if you travel in AC chair car of the Vande Bharat train then one-way fare will be Rs 1,200, while for travelling in executive chair car you will have to pay Rs 2,295. At the same time, the return fare from Mysore to Chennai will increase to Rs 1,365 in AC chair car, while it will be Rs 2,485 for executive chair car.
This train will take 6 hours 25 minutes to travel from Mysore to Chennai, while the same train will take 6 hours 30 minutes to reach Mysore from Chennai. No discount will be given to those traveling in this train. Rest of the train rules like booking, cancellation, refund etc. will be applicable like Shatabdi train.
