Newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinay Kumar Saxena took oath as the 22nd Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory today. The President had appointed him two days ago, while Anil Baijal had resigned from the post of Lieutenant Governor last week. Saxena (64) was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, Vipin Sanghi.

Many political officials attended the ceremony

In the swearing-in ceremony of Vinay Saxena, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Minister in the Central Government, Giriraj Singh, many ministers of the Delhi Government, High Court judges, top bureaucrats, besides many MPs and MLAs of Delhi were also present.

Former Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan was invited for today's swearing-in ceremony. When he reached here, there was some controversy regarding the seating arrangement. After which the former Union minister got angry and left the venue. The officers tried to convince him a lot but he did not listen.

Will work for the public-Vinai Kumar

He said that as LG, I will work for the public and will be seen on the streets more than the Raj Niwas. With this statement of the Lt Governor, experts are speculating that he can come before the Kejriwal government by being vocal on the issues of the people, due to which their relations may get strained. Let us tell you that before this, there was a conflict between Arvind Kejriwal's government and Anil Baijal, Najeeb Jung too.

Vinay Saxena, who worked in Gujarat for a long time, said that pollution is the biggest problem in Delhi and I will work to end it. He said that there is a large section of the poor in Delhi, who work in the unorganised sector, I will work for those people. He made it clear that I will work closely with the Delhi government. Vinay Saxena said that my dream is to make Delhi City of Joy and City of Flowers. Vinay Saxena also mentioned about the riots in North East Delhi a few years ago.
