Violence in Bengal is getting worse as people are protesting against the controversial remarks of Suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma on Prophet Mohammad. After heavy violence in Howrah and Murshidabad districts during the last two days, now on Sunday evening, people of a community created a ruckus at Bethuadahari station in Nadia district. A mob of miscreants suddenly attacked the station and ransacked it fiercely. The miscreants even targeted the Ranaghat-Lalgola local train parked at the station and vandalized it fiercely.

Heavy damage to railway property

According to an Eastern Railway spokesperson, there was heavy damage to railway property due to the attack. At the same time, train service on the Ranaghat-Lalgola rail section was also disrupted for about two hours due to this incident. After the information of the attack, GRP, RPF and police reached the spot with heavy force. Earlier, the miscreants fled from the spot after creating an orgy.

There is panic among the passengers too. According to the information, before the attack, people of one community had taken out a rally in the Bethuadahari area and also blocked the road. After this, when the police removed the barrier, the mob of miscreants suddenly reached the station and ransacked. By the time the police and RPF reached the spot, the miscreants created a ruckus. After that all ran away.

Situation under control in Howrah and Murshidabad today

On the other hand, the situation remained peaceful on Sunday in the violence-hit Howrah district of Bengal amid unrest and disturbance during the last three days. Police gave this information. Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) have been imposed in the affected areas in view of the heavy violence in various parts of the district, especially on Friday and Saturday and internet services have also been suspended in the entire district since Friday night. In fact, there were violent protests in many areas of the country including Howrah after the prayers on Friday against the controversial remarks made by the suspended spokespersons of BJP- Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal about Prophet Mohammad. Violence also took place in Panchla area of Howrah on Saturday. According to the police, the situation is also peaceful in Beldanga, Rezinagar and Shaktipur police station areas of Murshidabad district.
