Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release eight cheetahs into Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park on his 72nd birthday. The seven cheetahs—five females and three males—have been transported from Namibia in Africa as part of "Project Cheetah" and the government's efforts to restore and diversify the country's flora and ecosystem.

According to a contract India and Namibia signed earlier this year, India welcomed eight cheetahs on Saturday morning. Eight cheetahs from Namibia were transported by a tiger-faced B747 Jumbo plane at Kuno National Park. The male cheetahs are between 4.5 and 5.5 years old, while the females range in age from two to five years.
