The weather also seemed to be in the mood on the day of Holi. On Wednesday evening, there was drizzle in many parts of Delhi-NCR, providing reprieve from the heat. Since late afternoon, the sky was obscured by heavy clouds, and strong gusts had begun to blow. Even in the morning on Thursday, the weather is still pleasant. In the upcoming two days, on March 9 and 10, the Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms and rain across eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha.

Chance of light rain in these states

While this is happening, the IMD has issued forecasts for Wednesday that include light rain and thundershowers for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, South Haryana, Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. According to IMD, "Hailstorm with gusty winds at isolated areas over East Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh on March 8" and "Thunderstorm with hailstorm over Uttarakhand on March 8" are both possible.

At isolated locations, a thunderstorm with severe wind is highly likely. Also, it stated that from March 8 to March 12 there is a chance of light rain or thundershowers over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya.
