For Delhiites who have been facing continuous cold wave for several days, there is some relief on Wednesday morning. According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi's Safdarjung recorded a minimum temperature of 5.9 degrees Celsius on Wednesday morning amid the ongoing cold wave in parts of northern India. Whereas, visibility was recorded at 100 meters in the Palam area.
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be relief from the cold for three to four days. Earlier on Tuesday, Delhi's maximum temperature was one degree below normal at 18.7 degrees Celsius (dec), while the minimum temperature was recorded at 6.4 degrees below normal. A day before on Monday it was 3.8 sec. The humidity level in the air was 61 to 100%.
The number of flights delayed due to fog crossed 200 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday. As many as 230 flights were delayed on Monday midnight till around 10 pm on Tuesday night.
Flight to Kolkata was delayed by about six hours, flight to Rourkela in Odisha by about five hours and about 121 flights from Delhi to different cities of the country. Among the international flights, there were nine flights which were delayed. The flight to Bangkok was delayed by about three hours. During this period, the number of delayed flights reaching Delhi was around 96.
