Weather Update Today: A drop in temperature is being recorded in the morning and evening in Delhi-NCR. It is snowing in the higher reaches of Uttarakhand, Himachal and Kashmir. With this, cold has knocked in the plains of North India. At the same time, there is an alert for rain in many states of South India. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the pressure over the Bay of Bengal is likely to move towards South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts. It will gradually weaken into a well marked low pressure area in the morning of 22 November.
Due to the change in weather, heavy rains have been predicted over North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Rayalaseema region on Tuesday, 22 November. Rainfall warning has also been issued at a few places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain in North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on 23 November.
According to the IMD, strong winds with a speed of 45-55 kmph would prevail over southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal and along and off Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Sri Lanka coasts till Tuesday morning. After this, these strong winds will gradually reduce. Squally wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is expected over Gulf of Mannar on Tuesday.
