Weather Update: The whole North India (Delhi-NCR) region, including the national capital, is experiencing severe cold. Snowfall in hilly areas will start on January 7, according to the Meteorological Department. As an outcome, the temperature in the plains of North India may fall further, worsening the cold. For the next few days, dense fog is expected in Delhi and the National Capital Region. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for the current cold wave till January 7. On Saturday, the high temperature is predicted to be 18 degrees Celsius and the low temperature will be five degrees Celsius.
On Friday, the temperature in certain parts of Delhi was 1.8 degrees Celsius, and the cold will continue on Saturday as well. Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan are all experiencing freezing conditions, but minimum temperatures in Jammu and Kashmir have risen, bringing some relief from the valley's harsh cold. Meteorological Department issued a yellow warning, the situation is expected to remain the same on Saturday. Following that, temperatures are predicted to rise starting Sunday as a result of a fresh western disturbance.
