Weather Update Today: Due to the continuous cold wave, the temperature of many cities in North India went below zero degrees. Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, East Rajasthan, North-West Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh recorded a drop of 1-3 degrees in the minimum temperature. The lowest minimum temperature of -3.7°C was recorded at Fatehpur in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in Delhi. Severe cold wave will continue in Delhi from tomorrow for three days.

Yellow Alert in Delhi

The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for the next six days in Delhi. Mahesh Palawat, senior meteorologist, Skymet Weather, said Delhi's minimum temperature could drop by one degree Celsius on Tuesday. Due to Western Disturbance, the minimum temperature will gradually increase by three to five degrees Celsius from January 19 to 20.

Monday morning was the coldest of the season

Monday morning was the coldest of the season in Delhi. The minimum temperature was recorded at 1.4 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal.  After January 1, 2021, Monday was recorded as the lowest minimum temperature of this month in two years. Meteorologist Navdeep Dahiya claimed the minimum temperature in Delhi's Ujwa to be minus 0.5 degrees. On Sunday, he said that the temperature was minus 0.1 degrees. Many districts of Punjab were covered with haze. The minimum temperature settled near zero in four districts of Bathinda, Faridkot, Moga and Ferozepur.
