Along with the hilly areas in the country, the weather has changed in the plains. Winter is increasing in the states of North India. So right there, the rainy season continues in South India. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding the cyclonic storm. According to IMD, there is a possibility of a cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal. IMD says that due to this storm, there may be heavy rains in many states of South India including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh by 8 December.
A cyclone is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal this week and reach the adjoining coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh. This will be the second post-monsoon cyclone and once formed it will be known as 'Mandus'. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said that the low pressure area over South Andaman Sea and neighborhood is likely to move west-northwestwards and may form a depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal by the evening of December 6.
On the other hand, there is a forecast of increase in heavy rainfall activity over parts of South Andhra Pradesh from the midnight of December 7. In South Andhra Pradesh, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some parts on December 8 and torrential rains in most parts on December 9 and 10 and increase in rainfall. Heavy rainfall activity is very likely to increase over parts of North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal from December 7 midnight. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over most areas of these states .
