The rainfall has finally come to a standstill either fully or partially in almost all areas of the Country. But the case is bit different in Kerala, where some districts have been experiencing quite heavy rainfall since three days, owing to which yellow and orange alerts have been issued by the Indian Metrological Department. It has also alerted other states of India, of the possibility of return of Monsoon.
Due to to continuous rainfall in many parts of Kerala since a few days, the water level in rivers and dams has now increased. People from Thrissur and Kozhikode have been rescued and taken to rehabilitation centres. In Malappuram, two children lost their lives due to weather calamity.
Weather Department and State Disaster Management Authority has issued yellow and orange alert till October 15 in the districts of Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Palakkad. The district administrations have assured that they are well prepared to deal with every kind of emergency related to rainfall and have asked the fishermen and residents to stay alert.
Due to heavy rainfall, water has blocked the streets in state and the Weather Department has estimated 64.05 ml-204.4ml rainfall in several parts of the state.
According to the Director of IMD Hyderabad,the South-Western Monsoon has returned through ways of several districts. Hence, on October 16, several districts of Telangana can face low to medium rainfall.
