Weather Update: Possibility of rain in Delhi in next 2 days, IMD issues alert- Watch Video

Weather Update Today: Severe cold conditions continue in the national capital Delhi. On Tuesday, people woke up to dense fog and faces difficulty due to low visibility. . The first dense fog of the season was seen on Monday. The situation was such that the level of visibility in Safdarjung was reduced to 25 meters only.

IMD Issues Yellow Alert

Even till 9-10 in the morning, people were seen driving vehicles with headlights on in many areas. The fog also affected rail traffic and over 72 trains were delayed by one to nine hours. The Meteorological Department has forecast that fog will remain in Delhi for the next three to four days. Yellow alert has also been issued.

Delhi Temperature

The Meteorological Department has forecast that the sky will be clear on Tuesday. There will be dense fog in the morning. Cold wave conditions will continue in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be 19 and 5 degrees Celsius respectively.

Forecast of rain in some states

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in some states including UP, Haryana. After two-three days there may be drizzle in some parts.

The Meteorological Department has expressed hope of getting relief from the cold in the next few days. According to forecasters, a new Western Disturbance will come from the night of January 10, after which the weather will change.

If the wind direction changes between January 11 and 13, there will be some respite from the chilly cold. The Meteorological Department has issued Red Alert in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Orange Alert in Rajasthan, Bihar.
