Rainy season continues in many parts of the country. Along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Saurashtra, Kutch and Konkan, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some places with light to moderate rain in Goa. Along with this, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain at one or a few places and heavy rain at some places in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Heavy rains and floods have disrupted normal life in many parts of the country. In some areas of Madhya Pradesh too, the river sprang up after heavy rains. There has been an outcry from Ratlam to Rajgarh for the last 24 hours. From shops to squares and streets in Rajgarh, water has been flooded.
People are trapped in Rajgarh for 48 hours. There is no house in the locality, especially by non-violence, where water is not occupied. Ajnar river is in spate due to continuous heavy rains for two days. Not only this, after the torrential rains, flood-like situations have also arisen in Ratlam, Betul and Mandsaur.
Dark clouds, light rain and winds gusting up to 30 kmph made the weather pleasant in Delhi on Thursday. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the capital for a few days from Saturday. Delhi and other parts of North-West India have not received much rain in the last few days as the Monsoon Trough continues over central parts of the country. The trough will shift northwards for sometime and light to moderate rain may occur over Delhi and other areas from Saturday.
Mahesh Palawat, vice-president (meteorology and climate change) Skymet Weather said that only minor relief is expected. Thereafter, it is likely to weaken due to the development of a cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal, which is predicted to intensify into a low pressure area. It may rain again in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
