Weather Update Today: Dense fog was seen in some districts on Wednesday night, the weather remained somewhat clear on Thursday morning. All the vehicles were crawling in the night. After warning of dense fog on Thursday morning, the Meteorological Department has predicted some relief from the cold weather till Saturday. There is a forecast of drizzling along with the movement of clouds in western UP.

Cold Wave and Fog expected in coming days

Due to the western disturbance on the Himalayas, there was an increase in mercury on Tuesday due to bright sunshine, but the very next day, as soon as the effect of the disturbance subsided, due to the arrival of icy wind, the mercury dived again.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature dropped nearly six notches to 13.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature dropped nearly two notches to 4.8 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of fog from night to morning and fluctuating temperature, with chilly conditions continuing in the coming days.

Snowfall in last 24 Hours

In the last 24 hours, there has been light rain and snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. Dense fog prevailed in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Cold day conditions were observed in many districts. Light to moderate rain and snowfall may occur in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours. Cold day conditions may prevail in parts of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and dense fog may occur. Melting winter is expected to increase in Kanpur division.
