Weather update: Red alerts have been issued in numerous locations, and there is a chance of rain in various states, including Delhi and UP.

In the middle of the freezing weather, the majority of the states in North India are suffering from the dense fog. From Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Bihar there is dense to very deep fog in numerous places. The cold wave outbreak may last for the next three days in some parts of the capital, according to the Meteorological Department. The minimum temperature during this time can be found to be around 4 degrees. Fog will disrupt along with the cold wave. For the upcoming several days, there is a yellow alert from the meteorological department for fog and a cold wave.

Possibility of rain in these areas

The Meteorological Department has issued Orange Alert in Rajasthan and Bihar and Red Alert in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, forecasters have mentioned the chance of light rain and drizzle in numerous states, including Delhi, UP, Punjab, and Haryana, during the course of the next two days.

Longest cold day in Delhi

In Delhi, this January cold snap is the longest in the past ten years. The last time the capital saw such cold was in January 2013, which preceded this. Right now, a cold wave and fog are blanketing the entire city of Delhi. A Western Disturbance is expected to strike North India between January 11 and 13, which could lead to a gradual rise in temperature, according to the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast.
