The Meteorological Department has issued Orange Alert in Rajasthan and Bihar and Red Alert in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Along with this, forecasters have mentioned the chance of light rain and drizzle in numerous states, including Delhi, UP, Punjab, and Haryana, during the course of the next two days.
In Delhi, this January cold snap is the longest in the past ten years. The last time the capital saw such cold was in January 2013, which preceded this. Right now, a cold wave and fog are blanketing the entire city of Delhi. A Western Disturbance is expected to strike North India between January 11 and 13, which could lead to a gradual rise in temperature, according to the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast.
