Weather Update:  A cyclonic storm and heavy rain are expected in South India, while an outbreak of cold is spreading over North India. According to IMD, this storm may provide severe rains in a number of South Indian states, including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh. In various regions of South India, including Tamil Nadu, the meteorological department has issued a red alert.

The next few days will see a further rise in cold. The Meteorological Department has indicated the probability of a dip in minimum temperature of two to three degrees Celsius over the next few days due to fog in the plains and frost in the mountains.

The following few days could see snowfall in the Mountains, according to the meteorological department. A moderate to heavy downpour is expected in the southern states as well.

Weather condition in Delhi

 The cold has begun to worsen even in the nation's capital. The temperature could drop considerably more during the next few days. Fog was visible in certain parts of Delhi on Thursday morning. There is also a danger that the air pollution will worsen. The System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research, however, indicates that Delhi's AQI is in the 335.
