Weather Update: These cities will rain for the next three days, cold winds will bother some

The India Meteorological Department has warned that a new low pressure area is likely to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal off the Sri Lanka coast around November 9. It is very likely to move northwestwards towards Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts with possible slight intensification during subsequent 48 hours

Chance of rain and thundershowers in Kerala

Light or moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe during November 4-6. The Directorate of School Education has declared a holiday on Friday in all government and privately managed schools in Puducherry and Karaikal regions.

Very heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places over South Tamil Nadu and South Kerala on 4th November. During November 5-8, scattered to heavy or moderate rains are very likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands on November 7.

The Meteorological Department has also informed that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from November 4 and adjoining plains from November 5. Meanwhile, some South Indian states are likely to receive heavy rains in the next few days. Referring to the rainfall and temperature forecast for the month of November, an IMD official said that South India is likely to receive above normal rainfall during the month of November.
