With the beginning of the new year, the cold wave has returned in most of the states of North West India. According to the Meteorological Department, the dense fog may remain in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh for the next two days. Whereas, cold waves may prevail in Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Chandigarh today and tomorrow.
The minimum temperature in northwest and adjacent central India may decrease by 2-4 degrees Celsius during the next two days, according to the India Meteorological Department, as a result of northwesterly winds blowing from the Himalayas in the plains of northwest India. A drop in temperature of one degree Celsius is possible. In the northern regions of Rajasthan, severe cold wave conditions are possible through Tuesday.
Delhi will see extreme cold on January 4 and 5. The state may have a minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 18 degrees Celsius on this particular day. The minimum temperature on January 6 can be 5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature can be 18 degrees Celsius. The morning is likely to see some light fog.
