Cold has started increasing in the northern states of the country. This chill can turn into a severe winter. Because due to Western Disturbance, the weather may worsen in the northern states of the country. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of snowfall with light to moderate rains in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh by the end of this week.
The new Western Disturbance has reached the mountains and snowfall activities have started in Ladakh including Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Light rain may also occur in North Punjab. The weather of Central India and East India will remain dry. Torrential rains are expected in South India. Scattered rain is possible over North East India. Light rain and snow may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Himachal Pradesh.
Light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and South Interior Karnataka. Light rain is possible at one or two places over Punjab, South Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Coastal Karnataka. Delhi's AQI index is expected to remain in the severe category at most places.
According to the weather forecast agency Skymet, light to moderate rain and snowfall may start in Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. The intensity of rain and snow may increase from November 6. Isolated rain and snow may occur at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. At the same time, light to moderate rain may occur at one or two places over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Light rain is possible at two places over South Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Karnataka and Northeast India. Moderate to heavy rain is possible over Andaman and Nicobar Islands which may continue for next 2 to 3 days.
