IMD Director General Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that the minimum temperature during November is expected to be above normal in most areas of the country. Mohapatra, in a way, dismissed the possibility of cold wave this month and said that the day temperatures are likely to be above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Mohapatra said that these areas may remain cloudy, although the minimum temperature is likely to be above normal. This means that the chances of cold wave conditions during November are less.

Let us tell that the effect of winter in North India starts to be felt from mid-November, when the minimum temperature gradually drops below 15 degree Celsius and the nights become cold. Talking about the latest situation, the temperature remains above 15 in many areas of North India and there is a possibility of increase in temperature in the coming few days.
