Weather Update Today: The chilly winter season has started in NCR including the national capital Delhi. The ridge area of Delhi, Mungeshpur and Aya Nagar recorded a minimum temperature of 4.1 degrees Celsius due to the icy wind blowing from the northwest. Because of this, there was a cold wave-like situation in these areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave will continue in Delhi for two days. Because of this, the whole of Delhi will be in the grip of cold wave on Christmas day. Cold wave will continue on Monday as well. Dense fog will also occur during this time. After this, an increase of two to three degrees Celsius in the temperature can provide some relief from the cold.
According to the Meteorological Department, the condition of Western Disturbance is prevailing in North India. Because of this, the sky may remain partly cloudy on Sunday. Moderate fog will occur in the morning. There will be cold wave in most places. The maximum temperature is forecast to be 19 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature is four degree Celsius.
The maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 20.0 degrees Celsius, which is one degree Celsius below normal. This is the most so far this season. The minimum temperature was recorded at 5.4 degrees Celsius in the morning, three notches below normal. Dense fog reduced visibility to just 100 meters near Palam airport at 5.30 am. Visibility near Safdarjung was 400 metres.
