Weather Updates: Relief from the scorching heat as IMD predicts rain in these parts of the country, Alert issued. Watch Video

The National Capital Delhi and many other cities of North India will soon see a relief from the scorching heat. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain, hailstorm and thunderstorm for the upcoming week bringing a sigh of relief from the temperature reaching more than 40 Degrees Celsius. Moreover, IMD has also predicted that there will be no chance of a heat wave for a week. 


Meanwhile The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for rain in many states on Friday amid scorching heat across the country. According to the Meteorological Department, from May 21 to May 24, rainfall in Northwest and East India will be at its peak intensity on May 23. IMD has also  predicted sand and dust storms at isolated places in western Rajasthan between May 22 and 24 with strong winds reaching 30 to 40 kilometres per hour (kmph) in Rajasthan.

Cities Predicted with thunder and Rain for the next five days


IMD has also informed that isolated parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha are likely to receive thunderstorms in the next 5 days. There is also a possibility of rain in North India areas including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The states might also face strong winds and thunderstorms.

Dust storm and cloudy weather predicted in Delhi-NCR

IMD has also issued the possibilities of thunderstorms in their latest tweets on the country’s climate. The National Capital and NCR region will be facing thunderstorms, dust storms and cloudy sky on Saturday. Along with that, The IMD has also issued an orange alert for hail storms and thunderstorms in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. 

Hail rains have been predicted in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till May 23.
