US Secretary also commented on the matter

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stressed the need to make the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) more inclusive. In a joint press conference with Jaishankar, he said, to deal with the challenges we are facing, the members of the UN should also modernize the institution, including making the Security Council more inclusive, following the Charter. Therefore, in his address to the General Assembly, Joe Biden also supported the move to increase the number of both permanent and non-permanent representatives of the Security Council. This is a long standing demand of India.
