What facilities will be available in Agnipath Scheme, Indian Airforce has released the details

The Indian Air Force has released the details of Agneepath Army Recruitment Scheme. The scheme was announced by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on 14 June 2022. He had said that under this scheme youth will be recruited for 4 years and they will be called Agniveer. The age limit of these Agniveers has been kept from 17.5 to 21 years. 

Agniveers will be provided with Hardship Allowance, Uniform Allowance, Canteen and Medical Facility, as a regular Air Force soldier gets. Agniveers will also get travel allowance. Leave will be available for 30 days in a year, along with medical leave will be available separately. However, it will depend on the medical checkup.

Salary and allowance

Every Agniveer will get 30 thousand months salary in the first year of recruitment.Agniveer's salary will increase to 33 thousand in the second year, 36,500 in the third year and 40 thousand in the fourth year.However, 30-30 percent will be deducted every time for the retirement package from their salary.For example, 30 thousand rupees are to be received in the first year.But out of this only Rs 21 thousand will be given to him.The remaining 30 percent i.e. 9 thousand rupees will be deposited in Agniveer Seva Nidhi Fund.

The government will also put the same amount (9 thousand rupees) in this fund.  After completing four years, Rs 5.02 lakh would have been deposited by Agniveer in the service fund fund and Rs 5.02 lakh by the government.That is, in the event of being relieved of duty after four years of service, he will get a service fund package of Rs 10.04 lakh.

Other facilities announced

  • Agniveers will get Uniform Allowance, Canteen Facility, Medical Facility, Hardship Allowance. 

  • If an Agniveer becomes handicapped while on duty, he will get an ex-gratia amount of Rs 44 lakh. 

  • In case of disability in the line of duty, Agniveer will be given full salary of retirement and arrears of duty.

  • Agniveers will have a total insurance of Rs 48 lakh. 

  • If any Agniveer dies in the line of duty, then his family members will get a lump sum and service fund package of Rs 44 lakh.
