Assembly elections are going to be held in Jammu and Kashmir by the end of this year or next year. Although the Election Commission of India has not announced the dates yet, there are signs of some changes in the politics of the Valley. The National Conference led by former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and the BJP seem to be turning their backs on each other.

Abdullah and Raina praised each other

Recently, Omar Abdullah and Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina had openly praised each other. Now Omar's father Farooq Abdullah has expressed his opinion on the Narendra Modi government differently from PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti.

Raina had termed Omar Abdullah as a gem among the top political leaders of the Union Territory. Raina had said, "When I became a member of the assembly along with Omar Abdullah, we saw as a human being that Omar Abdullah is a gem among the top political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir. That's why both of us are friends too." He also said that Omar Abdullah was the first person to know his condition when he got infected with Corona. He had to call and inquire about his condition.
