Various states of the country are currently in the grip of severe cold. In other states including Delhi, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana and others states, people are troubled due to cold conditions at this time. Due to this, schools are currently closed in most states.

On the other hand, according to the latest update, in view of the severe cold in Jaipur, Rajasthan, it has been decided to extend the winter vacations in schools. The school will now remain closed in Jaipur till January 7, 2023.

According to media reports, District Collector Prakash Rajpurohit has issued orders in this regard. This order will be applicable only to all government and private schools in Jaipur district. Earlier, winter vacations were declared in Jaipur from 25 December 2022 to 5 January 2023. According to media reports, holidays have been declared for schools in Alwar district on January 6 and January 7.

Winter Vacations 2023 Extended in These States of India


Schools in Patna will remain closed for students studying in classes 1 to 8 from January 2 to January 7. It is to be known that this order to close schools will be applicable to all schools.


The Haryana government has declared winter vacation for all government and private schools in the state from January 1 to January 15, 2023. However, due to board exams, class 10 and 12 students are required to attend classes from 10:00 am onwards.

Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is also experiencing severe cold at this time. Because of this, schools in Lucknow, Noida, Kanpur and other cities are also closed till January 7.


All government schools in Delhi will have a two-week winter break from January 1 to January 15. However, the remedial session for classes 9 to 12 will be conducted from January 2 to January 14.
