World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2023: The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is observed yearly on April 28 in order to promote balanced safe, healthy, and acceptable working environments around the world. This day gives individuals and organisations the chance to promote a workplace culture that puts safety and health first.

Despite the advancements achieved in making workplaces safer, many employees continue to experience work-related illnesses and accidents that have the potential to cause death or serious harm. This day serves as a reminder for people and organisations to think about what they can do to encourage a workplace that is safer, healthier, and more effective.

The ILO adopted the Occupational Safety and Health Convention on April 28, 1971, which is the same day that this holiday is honoured. Many people still lose their lives or suffer injuries as a result of work-related accidents and illnesses, despite the efforts made to make workplaces safer.
