Yamuna Expressway likely to be renamed after former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and top BJP leaders will be attending the foundation-laying ceremony of Noida International Airport at Jewar in Gautam Buddh Nagar district today. As per the reports, on this occasion, The Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh will be renamed after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

A senior BJP leader, who chose to remain anonymous said, “The decision [to rename the expressway] has been taken to give a token of respect to the most loved politicians in India. AB Vajpayee is respected by all, across party lines, and the renaming of the expressway will remind future generations about his greatness.”

The foundation-laying ceremony of Noida International Airport is a significant infrastructural project of the Yogi Adityanath government that comes before the assembly elections to be held in the state next year.
