Recognized Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev apologized recently on Twitter, after the Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, on Sunday stated Yoga Guru Ramdev’s statement on allopathic medicines as “extremely unfortunate”.
The tweet shared by Baba Ramdev read (in Hindi), “Honorable Mr @drharshvardhan. Yes, I received your letter, With respect to this, I withdraw my statement regretting this entire controversy of the struggle of medical practices and I am sending this letter to you.”
Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Sunday asked Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev to withdraw his remark stating it as a disrespect to “corona warriors” and also it can further break the morale of healthcare workers.
It must be noted that a video of Baba Ramdev surfaces on social media wherein he was heard tagging allopathy as “a stupid science” and that medicines such as Remdesivir, Faviflu, and other drugs approved by the Drugs Controller General of India have failed to treat Covid-19 patients.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan in a letter to Baba Ramdev said, “The statement disrespects the corona warriors and hurts the sentiments of the country. Your statements on allopathy can break the morale of healthcare workers and weaken our fights against Covid-19.”
It must be noted that Dr. Harsh Varshan took these steps when the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Saturday condemned Baba Ramdev’s remarks and demanded action against him.
