So mentioned below are some of the tips shared by IAS Sanjana Yadav, which will surely help you in preparing well for your UPSC Civil Service Exam:

  • Sanjana shares that to prepare for the UPSC Civil Service Exam, getting enrolled into a coaching institute isn’t necessary unless the candidate feels the need of getting proper guidance from a mentor. Sanjana also cleared her UPSC Exam without any coaching, all by studying herself.

  • Sanjana also stated that a candidate will only be able to prepare the best only with limited study material. She further shares that the UPSC syllabus is very huge, and referring to 2-3 books for every subject will be difficult for you to complete on time. Hence, candidates are advised to choose only one book for every subject carefully. Also, she stated that if the book doesn’t have any particular topic, then try searching for it over the internet, or through some other medium, rather than referring to more than a single book for the same subject.

  • It isn’t necessary to make notes from every book, as UPSC aspirants have to give their mock tests too. Hence, Sanjana shared that she used to make notes only for the difficult topics, which had long paragraphs, and not for the easier ones.

  • Candidates must inculcate a habit of reading newspapers daily, as it helps them to remain up to date with Current Affairs.

Sanjana cleared her UPSC Civil Service Exam with a prolific rank of 126 and became an IAS officer by opting for self-study mode of preparation.
