After the onset of the monsoon in the hilly areas of North India, now the rain is wreaking havoc. Several people have lost their lives and many are missing due to heavy rains and landslides in Himachal, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain and landslides caused havoc in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Two people died due to landslides and flowing into the ravine in the district.
A landslide occurred after rain in the Boh area of Shahpur in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. So far two people have died due to its grip and 12 people are missing. However, these people are buried in the rubble and their chances of survival seem to be very less.
6 houses had come in the grip of the landslide. In Shimla, 184 roads are blocked for traffic due to debris in the state. Intermittent rain continues in Uttarakhand as well. Apart from this, traffic continued to be disrupted due to repeated debris on Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri highways. Rain in Jammu has broken the record of the last 32 years. The people of Delhi have got some relief from the heat due to heavy rains in many areas of Delhi and NCR.
According to the State Disaster Management Authority and the Revenue Department, four people have been rescued. However, late in the night, a girl child was also pulled alive from the rubble. DC and SP Kangra have also inspected the spot. He reached the spot after walking two km because the bridge on the road has also been washed away.
