Assam Assembly Election Result 2021: BJP to regain power in Assam, who will be the Chief Minister?

Counting of votes is going on for the results of the Assembly elections 2021 in Assam. In the initial trend, the BJP is getting the signs of majority. The final result is expected by the evening. The state has a total of 126 assembly seats, and a majority needs 64 seats. While voting was held in three phases on 27 March, 1 April and 6 April.

The people of Assam have again reposed faith in 59-year-old Sarbananda Sonowal. In the trends so far, Sonowal is expected to become Chief Minister for the second time in a row. If this happens, it will be the first time in Assam when the same face will be the second time as the Chief Minister. There has been no one who has become the Chief Minister twice in the politics of Assam started since 1946. Sonowal got the office of Chief Minister for the first time on 24 May 2016. The BJP contested here in alliance with the Assam Gana Parishad and the United People's Party Liberal.
