CBSE Class 12th exams 2021: The Majority states suggested the conduction of Board Exams 2021

CBSE Class 12th exams 2021:

The dilemma on whether to conduct the Class 12th Exam 2021 for CBSE, CISCE and other state boards still prevail. A high-level meeting discussing the same was conducted yesterday, wherein the states were asked their take on the matter. 

Many states suggested that conducting exams would be safe only after the students and teachers are vaccinated first, considering their safety first. The meeting was presided by the Union Minister Rajnath Singh and was joined by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Prakash Javadekar and Smriti Irani and all the State Education Ministers.  

However, a final decision in this regard hasn’t been taken yet, but most of the states were seen considering conducting the Class 12th exams. The Ministry of Education has asked for the final decision from the states by 25th May 2021.

The verdict shared by the states on conducting CBSE Class 12th exams 2021 is mentioned below:

  • Delhi: Manish Sisodia suggested that the CBSE should conduct exams only after the students and teachers are vaccinated properly, as conducting CBSE 12th Board Exams without vaccines will be a big mistake. 

  • Tamil Nadu: The education minister of Tamil Nadu suggested that conducting Class 12th exams would be better only when it’s safe. 

  • Karnataka: The Education Minister of Karanata S Suresh Kumar suggested that it is important to conduct the exams for Class 12th students for the betterment of the students, but only when it is safe to do so.

  • Odisha: The education minister of Odisha suggested that the Class 12 exams can be conducted when the situation improves or shall be cut short. 

  • Maharashtra: The Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad suggested not to conduct the CBSE Class 12th exams 2021 and other methods to promote the students must be explored. 

  • Punjab: Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla suggested that the exams of only three elective subjects shall be conducted.  

  • Chhattisgarh: The Chattisgarh education minister shared that the state has already shared the dates for CBSE Class 12th Board exams and the students will be writing the exams in offline mode where students shall write exams from their homes. 

  • Goa: The state has canceled its Class 10th Board Exams and a decision on Class 12th exams will be taken within 2 days. 

  • Assam: Assam suggested conducting the Class 10th and 12th exams once the situation of the Covid-19 virus gets under control.

A final decision on the CBSE Class 12th exams will be taken by 1st June in collaboration with the states.
