Covid-19 India Update:
The second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic may be weakening as of now, but the third severe wave of the Covid-19 pandemic may pose a great threat to children more, as stated by the experts.
While amidst this, the Director of AIIMS, Dr. Randeep Guleria has stated that soon after the completion of the second and third phase trials of the Covaxin on children aged between 2 to 17 years, the doses of Covaxin will be administered to them by September 2021. And meanwhile, if Pfizer and Biontech’s vaccines get a green signal till then, then they can also be considered as a substitute for the vaccine.
While sharing his view on the opening of schools, Dr. Guleria stated that students can be called to school which is not in non-containment zones on alternative days, while following all the required Covid-19 protocols.
Adding further, Dr. Randeep stated that the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic isn’t much likely to affect children more considering the high seropositivity rate in their bodies.
