Coronavirus India update: PM Modi presided over a meeting with the CMs, decision on lockdown still awaited

Coronavirus India update: 

To curb the current situation of the Covid-19 virus in India, PM Modi presided over a meeting with various prominent ministers, on Thursday and took up a detailed review of the Coronavirus situation in the country. Present in the meeting were the Union Cabinet Ministers including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Piyush Goyal, and Mansukh Mandaviya, among other ministers.

The press release issued by The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated that “He (here: PM Modi) was informed about the 12 states which have more than 1 lakh active cases. PM was also informed about the districts with high disease burden”.

After being updated on the various efforts being undertaken by the states to improve the healthcare infrastructure, PM Modi also directed that the states should get help and guidance about the leading indicators in order to boost their healthcare infrastructure. 

PM Narendra Modi also considered the need to take up measures against the spread of the Covid-19 virus. As stated in the press release, it was mentioned that “The PM said that an advisory was sent to the states to identify districts of concern where case positivity ratio is 10% or more and Beed occupancy ratio is more than 60% on either oxygen supported or ICU beds.” 

PM Modi also went through the statistics of the availability of medicines in the country. He also was informed about the rapid multiplication of the production of medicines including the Remdesivir drug.
