With the second wave of the deadly Covid-19 virus hitting hard on all of us, the country is now gearing up with its vaccination process. Earlier, the vaccination process against the Covid-19 virus was operational only for the senior citizens and the people above 45 years of age, but PM Modi took a massive decision and has now allowed people above the age of 18 years, basically the youth of India to register themselves and get vaccinated against the novel Coronavirus in India. Well, the actual reason behind this is that, with the second strain of the Covid-19 virus, the cases being reported to contain youths in large number getting infected through this virus.
Hence, people above the age of 18 years in India can get themselves vaccinated against the Coronavirus from 1st May 2021 onwards. However, it must be noted that the registration process or the booking for an appointment will commence from Saturday i.e., from 24th April 2021 onwards.

So, mentioned below are the steps which you must follow to register or book a vaccination appointment on CoWIN app. CoWIN app is a government portal that links every vaccine dose to its recipients.
To register and book an appointment for vaccination, a person can either directly refer to the CoWIN portal or the same can be done through the Arogya Setu App.
While booking an appointment through the CoWIN portal, enter your mobile number and ask for an OTP (One Time Password). Then, enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click on the verify button.
While booking an appointment through the Aarogya Setu app, visit the CoWIN tab, then tap on the vaccination tab and select to proceed.
A new registration page will appear where you must fill in all the required credentials such as name, year of birth, and gender. A photo ID type must also be entered to proceed further.
While registering for a senior citizen, click on Register. However, while registering for a person with comorbidities, click on YES when asked in the form, “Do you have any comorbidities (pre-existing medical conditions)”. It must be noted that a person with comorbidities must carry a medical certificate while visiting for their vaccine appointment.
Once the registration is done, a confirmation message will be sent to your registered mobile number.
After the successful registration, the system will reflect the “Account Details”. It is the page where you can add three more beneficiaries by clicking on Add More button.
A person can add up to four people linked with only one mobile number.
To schedule an appointment, one must click on the calendar icon, placed below a column named Action.
You will be then routed to the “Book Appointment for Vaccination” page where you will be required to enter the address details of the beneficiary including the State/UT, District, Block, and Pincode. Once done with this, click on the search button.
Based on the search criteria, you will be presented a list of vaccination centers.
Now, you must choose the vaccination center and also the dates as per the available slots after considering the dates and capacity.
After choosing the dates and center, click on “Book”.
Following this, a confirmation page stating the “Appointment Successful” message will appear.
In case you wish to reschedule your appointment, you must log in with your mobile number and enter the OTP. Now, you can make the required changes by clicking on the edit icon, present below the ‘Action’ column, but only for the registered individuals.
If in case, you have traveled to another city, the changes can be made by finding the nearest vaccination centers too.
