Covid-19 vaccine India Update:
The cases from the second wave of Coronavirus have gone down in the country now, but an alert has been issued regarding the third wave. And now to avoid any risk against the children from the contingent third wave, trials on the Covid-19 vaccines for children from 2 to 17 years of age are underway.
Meanwhile, the government committee has recommended against allowing to conduct the of clinical trials of the Serum Institute.
As per the reports, India’s central drug authority has sent a recommendation against granting the permission for conduction of phase 2-3 trial of Novavax’s Covid-19 vaccine ‘Covavax’ to the Serum Institute of India, on children.
It must be noted that the Serum Institute of India on Monday asked for approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) to conduct trials of Covovax on children from 2 to 11 years of age and 12 to 17 years of age at 10 sites.
While the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) has mentioned that the vaccine hasn’t been approved in any country.
