Covid-19 vaccine update:
The Covid-19 vaccination in India is in its full swing as the country recently launched its free vaccination for people above the age of 18 years on 21st June 2021. With this, the pace of vaccination in the country surged considerably, as the country administered a record 85 lakh doses in a day, on the first day of the drive.
As per the latest updates, the country may soon get Pfizer as its fourth Covid-19 vaccine. Pfizer CEO, Albert Bourla said that he hopes to finalize an agreement with the Indian government soon. Moreover, Russia's Sputnik V vaccine has also been approved in India.
Apart from this, indigenous Covaxin Vaccine update and Serum Institute of India's Covishield Vaccine Update are being used for vaccination in India, which means that Pfizer can be the fourth vaccine to be used in India.
The members of NITI Ayog today stated that the vaccines Covishield and Covaxin are effective against the new Delta Plus variant of the coronavirus found in India.
