The award given by UNESCO and London's Warkey Foundation will give them Rs 7 crore. Disale has been chosen from over 12 thousand teachers from 140 countries around the world. Ranjitsinh Disale, winner of the Global Teacher 2020 Award, not only learned his language to educate his school children but also translated his books into Kannada language and made them easily available through QR code. He was awarded the Innovative Researcher of the Year in 2016 and the Innovator of the Year Award in 2018 by the National Innovation Foundation for his significant contribution.
Ranjitsinh initially wanted to become an IT engineer but for some reasons he could not enroll in an engineering college. His father suggested teacher training as an alternative. Initially, he hesitantly enrolled in training, but his life changed after that. Ranjit believes that only teachers can improve the society and hence they decided to work in the field of education itself.
