Clearing a UPSC Exam and becoming an IAS Officer is an achievement in itself, but if there is a struggle story associated with it, the achievement becomes even more fruitful and buoyant. And much relatable to this is the story of Shrestha Anupam who pursued this profession of becoming an IAS officer to fulfil his father’s dream of becoming one. Being a student of Delhi University, the atmosphere inspired Shrestha’s father, Dilip Kumar to pursue IAS as a profession. But, unfortunately, he couldn’t clear the UPSC Civil Services exam. And now, his son Shrestha Anupam managed to clear the Civil Services Exam that too with a great score of Rank- 19. Shrestha Anupam’s Preparation Strategy:
As shared by him, Shrestha believes that remaining focused and preparing intensely for the Prelims exams. He further adds that though the marks scored in prelims are not added in the aggregate score while calculating the merit scored by any candidate, but the preparation for IAS exam is a continuous and steady process. Shresth cleared his IAS exam in the second attempt because during his first attempt he wasn’t in a proper mindset to clear his exam and didn’t prepared well for his preliminary exam.
Shrestha, in order to ace his preliminary exam gave many mock tests and he believes that giving mock tests provides an overview of the exams. Moreover, one should make a proper study plan according to the study material to complete the preparation of syllabus on time. He further shared the importance of a study time table and stated that he was able to focus on small details and cover everything. And this table helped him achieve a proper study discipline and he was able to prepare his study material completely on time and gave time to each subject while revision.
For UPSC Mains exam he shared that learning the art of writing answers helped Anupam a lot and he learned this skill over time. Shrestha used to practise writing answers and that helped him complete his questions on time.
