Mithali Raj creates History: Indian women's ODI and Test team captain Mithali Raj has created history by etching two records in a single day. She became the highest run-scorer in women's international cricket in the third ODI against England and became the only captain to win the most ODI matches in the world.


Mithali Raj records 10,337 runs in 317 matches

Let us tell you that Mithali Raj has played an unbeaten inning of 75 runs in the third ODI. In International cricket, she has scored 10,337 runs in 317 matches surpassing former England captain Charlotte Edwards (10,273 runs in 309 matches). 

Before the third ODI, Mithali was 11 runs behind the former England captain's record. Mithali has achieved this milestone by hitting a four on English bowler Nat Shiver. With this record, now both the titles on International men and women cricket are with Indian players. While Mithali is top in the women's team, Sachin Tendulkar is number 1 in men's cricket with 34,357 runs.

Mithali's amazing innings in the third ODI helped the Indian team to trail its win by 4 wickets. Batting first, England had scored 219 runs. Following them, India won the match by scoring 220 for 6 wickets in 46.3 overs. With this, Mithali has also become the most match-winning captain in the world in ODI cricket. This is also the 84th win of the Indian women's team under her captaincy. She has broken the record held by Australia's Belinda Clark (83 wins).
