Earthquake in Assam: 

On Wednesday morning i.e., 28th April 2021, severe earthquake tremors were felt in Assam at 7:55 AM. As per the Ritcher scale, the magnitude of the earthquake was noted at 6.4, with the epicenter of the earthquake being Sonitpur, Assam. It must be noted that the tremors of earthquake were even felt in the neighboring regions including some regions of Bihar, Bengal, and Arunachal Pradesh. 

Karnataka lockdown:

Recently, on 27th April 2021, a complete lockdown was imposed in Karnataka to curb the increasing Covid-19 cases. While this lockdown instilled a sense of fear among the migrant laborers as they gathered at the nearest bus stands and railway stations to migrate towards their respective hometowns. While the locals were seen hoarding essentials prior to the 14 days lockdown, where huge queues were formed outside the ration shops. However, it must be noted that all the important services and goods will be made available during this 14-days long lockdown in Karnataka.

Thane Hospital fire:

A hospital in the Mumbra district of Thane, Maharashtra, named Prime Criticare Hospital caught fire on Wednesday morning at 3:40 AM when the treatment of over 20 Covid-19 patients was going on at the hospital. While shifting patients to another hospital during the incident, 4 patients lost their lives, unfortunately. Further probe and investigation is currently going on, into the matter. 

Registration for Covid-19 vaccines:

The third phase of the Covid-19 vaccination process for people above the age of 18 years to 44 years of age is soon to commence from 1st May onwards. While it must be noted that, people falling in the age group of 18 to 44 years of age have to register for the same, and the registration for Covid-19 vaccine for people from 18 to 44 years will commence from 28th April 2021 i.e., today, 4 PM onwards. The registration can be done from CoWIN portal or the Arogya Setu portal launched by the Government of India.  

RCB defeats Delhi Capitals:

During the 22nd IPL 2021 match, Royal Challengers Banglore defeated the Delhi Capitals in the last ball with a margin of just 1 run. Bangalore scored 171 runs in 20 overs at a loss of 5 wickets, while Delhi Capitals scored 170 runs at a loss of 4 wickets. And today, a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Superkings will be played.
