Delhi Police Commissioner:
Balaji Srivastava has taken over as the additional charge of the Delhi Police Commissioner at Police Headquarters. Former Police Commissioner SN Srivastava has retired on 30th June 2021 administered Balaji Srivastava to take over the position of the Delhi Police Commissioner by welcoming him with a bouquet.
Balaji Srivastava is an IPS officer from the 1988 batch.
Balaji is currently appointed at the post of Special CP Vigilance officer.
As per the reports, Balaji has been appointed as the Delhi Police Commissioner until March 2024.
Balaji is the second such officer who has been given additional assignments by the ministry.
However, this may not affect any administrative tasks, as Balaji can freely take decisions as the police commissioner of Delhi.
Balaji has also previously also served as the DGP of Mizoram and Puducherry.
Balaji has been a part of the intelligence wing, Special cell commissioner, and economic offense branch.
Balaji has also served as the Additional Director General of the Andaman and Nicobar.
Adding further to the experience, Balaji has also served at the Cabinet Secretariat for 9 years.
