Lockdown In Odisha to be imposed from 5th May until 19th May, due to Covid-19 surge

 Lockdown In Odisha:

Due to the rapidly surging Covid-19 virus in India, the state of Odisha has also announced a 14-day lockdown from 5th May 2021 until 19th May 2021. Currently, Odisha is witnessing 4.5 lakh cases, with 10,413 fresh coronavirus cases being reported within the past 24 hours. 

Followed by a Covid review meet, the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik stated, “We are in the midst of a severe crisis in the country. Many states and metro cities are witnessing a huge strain on the healthcare system. We need to be extremely cautious and alert in ensuring all measures to manage the situation in Odisha.”

It must be noted that the Delhi lockdown, which has been imposed for 2 weeks straight as of now, has been extended by one more week, due to the consistent rise in the Covid-19 cases. While the news and instances of shortage of oxygen, medicines, and hospital beds have made global headlines.

India is currently reporting over 4 lakh Covid-19 cases each day, while the total recoveries can also be seen in good numbers now.
