Modi Cabinet Expansion: Amid all the speculation and headlines, the reshuffling Modi Cabinet will take place in the evening on July 7. Before that, the Union cabinet had already got several resignations from the ministers including Labor Minister Santosh Gangwar and Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. Earlier a meeting was also held at the PM's residence regarding the expansion of the Union Cabinet. The meeting was attended by many ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda were present.
For the unversed, let us inform you that this is the first Union cabinet expansion in the second term of the Modi Government. It is expected that around43 ministers may take oath for the post of Union MInister. As per the reports Four to five faces from Uttar Pradesh can be included in this cabinet expansion of center. In this expansion, there will be caste and regional balance in terms of the political equation. The representation of OBC leaders will increase which may influence the upcoming regional elections of the state. In Uttar Pradesh, Anupriya Patel from ally Apna Dal as well as Varun Gandhi from BJP's quota may join the cabinet. Both ministers are young, educated and also fit in the groove of the caste equation.
Let us tell you that MP Anupriya Patel was one of the youngest ministers in the previous government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Praveen Nishad, the lone MP of his ally Nishad Party, can also join the list. The discussions of getting the post of minister for either MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi or Seema Dwivedi are also intensifying. Kaushambi MP Vinod Sonkar, Maharajganj MP Pankaj Choudhary, Lakhimpur Kheri MP Ajay Mishra and Rajya Sabha member BL Verma may also be included in the list.
Meanwhile, the name of Jitin Prasad, who earlier left the Congress party and joined the BJP, is also in discussion for the expansion of the Union Cabinet. It is believed that the BJP can take a decision to include him in the cabinet in order to cultivate the Uttar Pradesh Brahmin vote bank. Apart from Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan Shukla, Ramshankar Katheria and Satyapal Singh can be made ministers in the centre cabinet.
