Navjot Singh Sidhu Punjab Congress Chief:
Recently on Sunday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has appointed Navjot Singh Sidhu as the Punjab Congress Chief. And along with this, Sonia also named four working presidents of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee namely, Sangat Singh Gilzian, Pawan Goel, Sukhwinder Singh Danny, and Kuljit Singh Nagra.
While as per the party statement, Navjot Singh Sidhu has been appointed as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect, by Congress President Sonia. As the statement read, “The party appreciates the contributions of outgoing PCC President Sunil Jakhar.”
It must be noted that Sidhu’s name was opposed by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Amarinder Singh, as he wrote a letter to the Congress President, but on Saturday, the party’s state in-charge Harish Rawat reached Chandigarh to talk to the CM.
While Nagra who earlier was the in-charge of the party affairs in Sikkim, Nagaland, and Tripura, has been eased off his present responsibilities.
And in the run-up to his appointment, politician Sidhu has reached out to more party leaders and legislators for his support.
